Bengals by
F i r e C a t z
Our Bengals are raised inside underfoot, so, they get all day attention. They are raised around everyday sounds (washing machine, vacuum, kids running, screaming and playing etc etc). We do this so when they leave for their new homes, they are not surprised or scared of things in a average household. They are also introduced to the dogs at a young age, and once they are vaccinated, they are able to run around outside to view everything else. Every Bengal has its own individual personality, you wont get 2 the same. But they are generally extremely playful, curious, loving, intelligent and chatty. The Bengals are a very alert breed, highly sociable, nosey, intelligent, loyal, and so confident. You can also get the "not so intelligent" kittens, generally being male kittens that will fall off tables, couches etc and run into things such as walls, doors etc. These kittens tend to act before they think...and think afterwards..."bugger, what did I do that stupid thing for!". Bengals are AMAZING athletes, you will often see a small bundle of spotty fluff shooting past you. Kittens in particular are really active, they do pretty much everything at 100 km/h and 6 feet in the air! Bengals tend to love being up high too, and also love to jump from that high place, sometimes onto your shoulder to give you loves and head-butts. Aside from all the activity, there is another side to the Bengal. The big "softie" side. After they have worn themselves and often their owners out, they will calm right down, catch their breath and start to purr, paddle with their paws, head-but, do cute little Bengal "chirps" and will stretch right out and fall asleep, and it doesn't matter where they are too! They will often wake you up in the night head-butting and paddling just because they want you to open the blankets for them or they want a cuddle.
Bengals will form strong, loving, loyal relationships with their owner/s. With the Bengals being so devoted to their owners, the owners will often find their Bengal with them doing what ever the owner is doing. We live on a farm and have horses and when ever we are out with the horses, you can be sure enough that there will be a Bengal out there in the paddock helping us.
The pic above is 2 Cinnamon Spotted Bengals. 2 of 5 born in New Zealand. This was JungleSpirit's very first litter.
They love being outdoors, I do not recommend to keep a Bengal inside mostly, because of the fact that they love the outdoors so much. The Bengals are also extremely intelligent. They are easily taught to walk on a lead, play fetch, retrieve things, hunt, speak and the list goes on. The Bengals also have an amazing curiosity or love for water. I have had kittens and cats jump in the bath with me, jump in the shower, play with the water feature outside (they love the fish pond...), play with the hose, jump into the pool too. Because the Bengals are a sociably breed, they get on well with most animals. Eg horses, other breeds of cats and they love the dogs.

The Bengals are generally easily amused with things like feather teasers, cat balls, and any other toy around. We have found that our Bengals dont like the big flash toys, they enjoy more simpler things such as a bale of hay or a cardboard box. They can also get bored very easy if there is not enough to amuse them, this is when you can see the destructive side to the Bengals, but as stated before, it doesn't take much to amuse the Bengal!
